Illinois attorneys must complete 30 CLE hours every 2 years as part of the Illinois CLE requirements, including 6 hours of Professional Responsibility. The mandatory Illinois CLE compliance deadline is June 30 and the CLE reporting deadline is July 31. If your last name starts with A-M, your two-year IL CLE compliance period begins July 1 of even numbered years. If your last name starts with A-M, your two-year IL CLE compliance period begins July 1 of odd numbered years. Pursuant to the Illinois MCLE Rule, Illinois attorneys are responsible for their own record keeping of CLE activities completed. The IL MCLE Board will only request certificates of attendance in the event that the attorney is audited. The certificates of completion issued by Attorney Credits should be maintained to verify Illinois CLE compliance.
