Hawaii attorneys must complete and report three (3) hours of accredited CLE activities each calendar year. In addition, attorneys in Hawaii must also complete at least one (1) credit hour of legal ethics every three (3) years. Hawaii attorneys must complete their CLE hours by December 31 and report their MCLE compliance by December 31. Each active member of the HSBA must certify on their annual registration form whether the member is in compliance with the Hawaii CLE requirement by reporting the number of approved CLE hours completed in the previous year, including the specific number of hours of ethics or professional responsibility. You must maintain CLE certification records for the three most recent reporting periods. Hawaii attorneys may satisfy all three (3) required CLE credit hours each annual compliance period through online and downloadable CLE courses.
