West Virginia attorneys must complete 24 credit hours every two years, including 3 credit hours of legal ethics. The compliance period begins on June 30, runs for two years and then the deadline to report your CLE compliance is July 31 of your reporting year. Attorneys may carry over 6 West Virginia CLE credit hours from one compliance period to the next, except that the following credit hours may NOT be carried over: legal ethics, office management, substance abuse requirement and/or elimination of bias in the legal profession.
