Of the maximum twelve 12 allowed for carryover, only 8 can be from online on-demand courses.
Newly Admitted Attorneys
Newly admitted active Virginia lawyers are exempt from the MCLE requirement for the year in which they are licensed. Your license date is the date on which the VBBE released the bar exam results.
Lawyers registering as active must also take the mandatory Harry L. Carrico Professionalism Course which is required within 24 months of registering with the VSB. Attorney Credits does not offer this course.
Expanded Credits
Virginia has expanded their general credit hours to include a new category call Well-Being. This new category allows courses with topic areas such as stress, mental health, and attorney well-being to count as general credits. Note, there is no requirement for Well-Being.
