How many MCLE hours are required?

Fifteen credit hours every year - including 2 required hours of legal ethics, malpractice, or professionalism and 1 required hour of elimination of bias.

How many MCLE hours can I take through Attorney Credits?

All 15 credit hours. Missouri attorneys must complete 9 hours through live webinars.

Can Missouri attorneys complete online on-demand legal ethics courses?

The 2 required hours of either ethics, malpractice, or professionalism and 1 required hour of elimination of bias cannot be earned through on-demand online courses.

How do Attorney Credits' MCLE courses qualify for credit in Missouri?

All live webinar courses have been approved for credit by The Missouri Bar. Attorney Credits' online and downloadable on-demand MCLE courses are considered self-study credits in Missouri.

What are my MCLE compliance and reporting requirements?

What is the requirement for newly admitted attorneys?

Newly admitted Missouri attorneys are not required to complete or report any credit hours in the reporting year in which they are initially licensed to practice law in Missouri. Please note that the MCLE reporting year is different from the standard calendar year and begins on July 1 and ends on June 30 the following year. Credit hours should be reported in the online annual report for the July 1- June 30 reporting year in which the program credit hours occurred.

Can I carry hours forward to the next year?

Yes, up to 15 credit hours may be carried over to the next compliance period. To determine how much credit you may carry over, see Question #10 on the MCLE FAQ on The Missouri Bar website: http://www.mobar.org/mcle/requirements.

Does Attorney Credits verify my completion?

For live webinar courses our system automatically monitors your presence in the course. For on-demand courses Missouri attorneys monitor their own progress and verify their own completion once the course has been completed.

Does Attorney Credits report my MCLE hours to The Missouri Bar?

Attorney Credits reports live webinar courses in Missouri. Our automated attendance reports run weekly on Thursday. Missouri attorneys must self-report completion of their on-demand CLE activities through the Missouri Bar website by July 31 each year.

How do I report the completion of my MCLE requirement at the end of my compliance period?

Missouri attorneys must file the Attorney's Annual Report of Compliance with The Missouri Bar by July 31. This can be done through the bar's website at: https://mobar.org/site/rise/Contact/Sign_In.aspx. Click the My MCLE link and report our credits as self-study.
