What is the requirement for newly admitted attorneys?

Newly admitted Missouri attorneys are not required to complete or report any credit hours in the reporting year in which they are initially licensed to practice law in Missouri. Please note that the MCLE reporting year is different from the standard calendar year and begins on July 1 and ends on June 30 the following year. For example: A lawyer admitted to practice in April 2022 would be admitted during the 2021-2022 reporting year and would not be required to complete or report MCLE hours until the 2022-2023 reporting year (July 31, 2023, filing deadline). A lawyer admitted to practice in September 2022 would be admitted during the 2022-2023 reporting year and would not be required to complete or report MCLE hours until the 2023-2024 reporting year (July 31, 2024, filing deadline). Credit hours should be reported in the online annual report for the July 1- June 30 reporting year in which the program credit hours occurred.

Can I carry hours forward to the next year?

Yes, up to 15 credit hours may be carried over to the next compliance period. To determine how much credit you may carry over, see Question #10 on the MCLE FAQ on The Missouri Bar website: http://www.mobar.org/mcle/requirements.

Does Attorney Credits verify my completion?

No. Missouri attorneys monitor their own progress and verify their own completion once the course has been completed.

Does Attorney Credits report my MCLE hours to The Missouri Bar?

No. Attorney Credits does not report your completed courses to The Missouri Bar. We do maintain a record of all your completed courses and you can access your certificates of completion at anytime from our website.
