What is the requirement for newly admitted attorneys?

Within 12 months after being admitted to the Kentucky Bar Association, a newly admitted attorney must complete the New Lawyer Program. This program is offered twice a year (in January or early February) and is done in conjunction with the Kentucky Bar Association Annual Convention.

Does Attorney Credits offer courses for newly admitted attorneys?

No. This program is only offered by the Kentucky Bar Association.

Can I carry hours forward to the next year?

Yes, up to 25 credit hours may be carried over to the next compliance period, including 4 credit hours of legal ethics.

Does Attorney Credits verify my completion?

No. Kentucky attorneys monitor their own progress and verify their own completion once the course has been completed.

Does Attorney Credits report my CLE hours to the Kentucky Continuing Legal Education Commission?

No. Attorney Credits does not report your completed courses to the Kentucky Commission on Continuing Legal Education. Kentucky attorneys are required to self-report their hours. We do maintain a record of all your completed courses and you can access your certificates of completion at anytime from our website.

How do I report my CLE hours to the to the Kentucky Continuing Legal Education Commission?

Go to the Kentucky Bar website at https://www.kybar.org click the CLE Button, Member CLE Portal, and select Submit New Credits.

How do I report the completion of my CLE requirement at the end of my compliance period?

You must report all your CLE credit hours to the Kentucky Continuing Legal Education Commission by August 10. You can check your online transcript by clicking the following link: https://www.kybar.org.
