Active Georgia attorneys are required to keep current on the law by attending a minimum of 12 hours of GA CLE annually. Attorneys in Georgia may earn 6 of 12 CLE credits online at AttorneyCredits.com. Online Georgia CLE courses are considered self-study credits. Of the 12 units required GA CLE for lawyers, at least one credit hour must be in legal ethics and one must be in professionalism. Georgia attorneys must complete all MCLE hours by December 31 and report MCLE compliance by January 31. The Georgia CLE Commission will mail an Annual Report to all non-exempt active members of the State Bar of Georgia every year. The Annual Report shows all CLE hours taken for the previous year and indicates all fees owed. By January 31, an attorney who hasn't completed the necessary GA CLE hours must sign and return the Annual Report to the CLE office. An attorney whose hours are complete does NOT need to return the report. In either case, the attorney is responsible for verifying the information, correcting any mistakes and returning the report (if needed) to the Georgia CLE office by January 31.
