State Rules
New 18 Hour Requirement
Georgia attorneys now must complete 18 hours every 2 years – including 3 hours of legal ethics and 2 hours of professionalism. There is no longer a trial practice requirement. The Georgia CLE compliance deadline is December 31 of every odd-numbered year.
Newly Admitted Attorneys
Newly admitted Georgia attorneys must complete the State Bar of Georgia Transition Into Law Practice Program. This program is only offered by the State Bar of Georgia. Certain exemptions to this requirement apply, please check with the State Bar of Georgia for details on the exemptions.
