I have practiced law for over 40 years, 29 years with the Attorney General's Office of California, the remainder in private civil litigation practice, and have extensive experience in trial and appellate matters (over 150 jury and bench trials, 100 appeals). I have been AV rated since 1986.
My publications include author and coauthor of civil litigation-related books for the University of California's Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB). I have been a speaker or instructor for a number of organizations including CEB, California judge's college, National Association of Attorneys General, Association for Continuing Legal Education, Professional Development Consortium, American Meteorological Society, and others.
I have heard over 200 arbitrations for several organizations including FINRA, the Superior Court, the State and County Bar Associations, and the Better Business Bureau, and as a judge pro tem for the Superior Court.
I attended law school after serving as a naval officer in the Submarine Service during the Cold War.
