Video Instruction Tutorial

If you are having problems watching our videos please verify that you system is working properly by watching our demo video. Demo video page.

You will need a Broadband Internet connection, a modern computer and Adobe Flash Player to watch the videos.

When you get to your class video page, the video player will appear within the webpage. The video player image and explanations for the numbered items are below:

Video Instructions

    1. Above the video player is the class name.

    2. Click the Instruction button if you need to see these instructions again.

    3. To download any text materials for the class, click PDF Download. The class material will download as a PDF. You can view, save, and/or print the material on your own computer. **Note** Please download the materials before completing the class because you will lose access to the material once the class is complete.

    4. Once you are done viewing the entire video click Download Certificate. This completes your video class and allows you to download or email yourself the class certificate.

5 and 6. There are two play buttons. The large play button in the center of the screen comes on when you first get to the page. The smaller play button will turn into a Pause button while the video is playing.

    7. Use the rewind button to go back. Click and hold to move the video backwards. The timeline slider #9 is easier to use.

    8. The fast forward button only works once you have watched the entire video. You can not fast forward the first time you watch the video. The timeline slider #9 is easier to use.

    9. To move forward or backward (remember you can't go forward unless you have already watched the video) move the timeline slider with your mouse.

    10. These numbers will indicate how far you are in the timeline and display the total runtime of the video.

    11. Use your mouse to raise or lower the volume using the slider.

    12. To double the size of the video window, click 2X. To go back to normal size, click 1X. Please note that video quality will be diminished at 2X.

To verify that you didn't just hit Play and walk away, at random points during the video a Pop Up Box will appear. Enter the Numerical Code (1) displayed on your screen into the Box (2) with your keyboard and click Enter Code (3) before the Countdown Timer (4) hits zero. Once you enter the proper code the video will play again. If the countdown timer reaches zero, you will automatically go back in time to a point we can verify you were watching. This could be back to zero or the last time you entered a code. If you do not enter the code in time you will have to re-watch the video. We will not adjust the video because you left the room. There is an audible beep for the first 4:30 and a buzzer warning the last 30 seconds to let you know the timer is active.

    Video Codes

**Important Note** To watch the entire video you must let it play all the way to the end. When it reaches the end you will see a "Replay" button. If you stop the video before the last frame has been watched you will not be able to click the Download Certificate button. Remember, to let the video finish by itself. Once the video has been completed the Download Certificate button will become active.

Another important thing about our site: If you want to watch the video again or download the PDF class materials you must do so before you download your certificate. Once you download your certificate you will lose access to the video and class materials. The only way to get access again is to sign up for the class again.

Can I stop and start, or come back and finish later? While you are watching the video we keep track of where you are at to within 30 seconds. If you stop and come back the video will start to within 30 seconds of where you last watched.

A few things to check if you can't watch the video:

    1. You will need a modern computer. Computers over five years old may have problems with processing the video.

    2. You will need a current Internet Browser, supported browsers are: Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 2, Firefox 3, Safari 2, Safari 3, or Chrome.

    4. You will need Adobe Flash Player 9 or above. A free download from www.adobe.com

    4. You will need a Broadband Internet connection. These include: cable, DSL, T-1 and T-3. Dial-up telephone and cell phone modems are not fast enough and will not work. Even though cell phone companies sell what they call "broadband", or 3G, these are still not fast enough and we do not support these types of connections. If the video starts and stops then you are having connection issues or you have a slow connection. Connection issues could be caused by your service provider. Call your provider's tech support number to see if they are having any system issues.

Do you share your Internet connection? If you share your Internet connection either through WiFi or on a network, other users could be slowing your connection due to limited bandwidth. Your total overall Internet connection speed is limited and if other people are also using it then your speed can be cut by half or more depending on how many other people are sharing the connection and what they are doing.

    5. Do you work for a large law firm, corporation, or government entity with a firewall? Firewall's are often configured to block video. If you are unable to watch our video, please contact your IT department to see if they can change the firewall restrictions to allow our video.

    6. Refreshing the page on your Internet Browser usually solves most video issues. Refreshing the page is very easy. Most browsers have a refresh button on the toolbar look for the arrow button. Or users of Internet Explorer and Chrome can hit F5, and users of Firefox and Safari can hit Ctrl + R. Reloading the webpage fixes most problems users are having.
