State Information for ParalegalsAttorney Credits currently offers continuing education courses for California, Florida, and Texas paralegals. California Paralegals: All paralegals shall be required to certify completion every three years of four hours of mandatory continuing legal education in legal ethics. All continuing legal education courses shall meet the requirements of Section 6070. Every two years, all paralegals shall be required to certify completion of four hours of mandatory continuing education in either general law or in a specialized area of law. Certification of these continuing education requirements shall be made with the paralegal's supervising attorney. The paralegal shall be responsible for keeping a record of the paralegal' s certifications. As an Approved Provider by the State Bar of California #13825, most of our courses can be used for California paralegals. Go to Course List and use the "Paralegal Search" button to bring up courses you can take. For Texas Paralegals: The Division will accept substantive law CLE presented or approved by the MCLE Department of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, the National Association of Legal Assistants, the National Federation of Paralegal Associations, and/or presented by the Paralegal Division, local bar associations, paralegal associations, or law firms for credit towards the Paralegal Division mandatory membership renewal CLE requirement. Only classes approved by the Texas Bar will show up on the search result if you search for Texas Paralegal classes. Go to Course Lit and use the "Paralegal Search" button along with the Texas option to find courses you can take.
