Each attorney practicing in Missouri must complete fifteen (15) hours of continuing legal education, including two (2) hours of professionalism, ethics or malpractice prevention credit each annual compliance period. The reporting period runs from July 1 - June 30. By July 31, each Missouri attorney must also make an annual report to The Missouri Bar. This includes Senior Counselors who are "EXEMPT" from the payment of bar dues. Attorneys who are newly admitted to The Missouri Bar are exempt from the annual MCLE requirements of Rule 15 only for the reporting year in which they are admitted. In Missouri, up to six (6) hours of self-study credit may be earned by studying law-related materials designed to further academic and professional competence. This includes but is not limited to videotapes, audiotapes and advance sheets. Study of online on-demand legal materials may be reported for self-study credit - subject to the six (6) hour limit.
