Colorado attorneys must complete 45 credit hours every three years, including 7 hours in the area of legal ethics. The Colorado CLE compliance deadline is December 31 and the reporting deadline is January 31. CO CLE Credits cannot be carried over from one compliance cycle to the next. Attorneys must self-report completion of CLE. The certificate of completion issued by Attorney Credits should be maintained to verify attendance with the Supreme Court Board of Continuing Legal and Judicial Education (Colorado CLE Board). To receive CLE credit for a Homestudy CLE course, a Homestudy Affidavit (a/k/a “Blank Affidavit”) must be submitted to the Colorado CLE Board. Every Colorado attorney was provided a Homestudy Affidavit from the Colorado Supreme Court upon admission to the bar or provided an affidavit upon changing addresses.
