12 hours – including 1 hour of legal ethics and 1 hour of professionalism & civility. Utah attorneys will be able to complete 6 on-demand CLE hours annually under the new rules.
Please Note: Utah lawyers that comply with the 2021 reporting period are now required to change from a 2 year CLE reporting period to a 1 year CLE reporting period. Attorneys can complete 6 hours online.
All of our online and downloadable on-demand MCLE courses have been approved for MCLE credit by the Utah State Board of Continuing Legal Education.
New lawyers must complete the following MCLE requirements: the New Lawyer Training Program, the New Lawyer Ethics Program and 12 accredited MCLE hours.
We do not offer the New Lawyer Training Program and the New Lawyer Ethics Program. These programs are only offered by the Utah State Bar. Newly admitted attorneys may complete the 12 accredited MCLE hours through Attorney Credits.

No. Utah attorneys monitor their own progress and verify their own completion once the course has been completed.
Yes, Attorney Credits does report your completed courses to the Utah State Board of Continuing Legal Education. We will report your course attendance within 30 days of course completion. Our automated reports run on the 1st and each Thursday of the month.
You must file a Certificate of Compliance before July 31. The Certificate of Compliance must include the title of programs attended, the entity that sponsored the MCLE program, the number of hours in actual attendance at each program and other information that the Utah State Board of Continuing Legal Education might require.

This report will contain the MCLE information that has been received and entered by the Utah State Board of Continuing Legal Education.
