State Rules

Florida lawyers with an April 2024 and beyond deadline are required to complete a minimum of 30 CLE hours during their 3 year compliance period. Three of the 30 credit hours must be in approved legal ethics, substance abuse, or mental illness awareness programs. Three of the 30 credit hours must be in approved technology programs. Two of the 30 credit hours must be in professionalism. The professionalism course is only by The Florida Bar, and is offered for free.

Florida Lawyers may satisfy all Florida CLE requirements through our online courses, except the Florida Legal Professionalism course which is only offered by The Florida Bar.

Newly Admitted Attorneys
Newly admitted attorneys in Florida must complete the Basic Skills Course Requirement (BSCR). It is a two phase requirement for new lawyers. Phase I is Practicing with Professionalism and Phase II is 3 basic level Young Lawyers Division (YLD) courses. These courses are available from the Florida Bar. Attorney Credits does not offer these newly admitted courses.

Florida Registered Paralegals (FRP) Continuing Legal Education
All Florida Registered Paralegals are required to complete 30 total hours of continuing education each cycle. Of the 30 total hours, 5 must be in ethics or professionalism.
