How many MCLE hours are required?

How do Attorney Credits’ MCLE courses qualify for credit in Alabama?

What is the requirement for newly admitted attorneys?

Within 12 months of being admitted to the Alabama State Bar, every newly admitted attorney must complete a 3-hour course in professionalism.

Does Attorney Credits offer courses for newly admitted attorneys?

No. This 3 hour professionalism course must be completed at a live event.

Can I carry hours forward to the next year?

Yes, up to twelve (12) credit hours can be carried over to the next compliance period.

Does Attorney Credits verify my completion?

Yes, under the Alabama MCLE requirements we must monitor your course attendance and completion. For online streaming video courses you must click on randomly inserted pop ups during the video to confirm that you are viewing the course.

Does Attorney Credits report my MCLE hours to the Alabama MCLE Commission?

Yes, Attorney Credits does report your completed courses to the Alabama MCLE Commission. We will report your course attendance within thirty (30) days of course completion. We report on the 1st and 15th of every month. In addition, we also maintain a record of all your completed courses and you can access your certificates of completion at anytime from our website.

How do I report the completion of my MCLE requirement at the end of my compliance period?

You must check your online transcript to confirm that you have completed all your required AL MCLE by December 31. You can view your transcript at any time by logging in to your account on the Alabama State Bar website. If you receive a notice of non-compliance around the end of January or beginning of February, you have until February 15 to submit a corrected MCLE transcript indicating compliance or submit a deficiency plan with the $100 late compliance fee.
