State Reporting

Missouri attorneys must self report completion of their CLE activities. You must file the Attorney's Annual Report of Compliance (Form 1) with The Missouri Bar by July 31. You must either report 15 hours of continuing legal education or claim an exemption as a non-practicing attorney. If you have carryover hours from the preceding reporting year, you still must file an Annual Report of Compliance by July 31 listing the carryover hours and any other CLE programs that you may have attended. You can also file your Annual Report of Compliance on the bar's website.

State Rules

Missouri attorneys can take up to 6 of the 15 required CLE credits online through Attorney Credits. Online credits are considered "self-study" in Missouri. Missouri does not accredit self-study courses. Missouri attorneys can not take ethics, malpractice, or professionalism credits online unless special authorization has been give by the Missouri Bar due to hardship.

Newly Admitted Attorneys

Newly admitted attorneys must complete 2 credit hours devoted exclusively to professionalism, substance abuse and mental health, legal or judicial ethics or malpractice prevention within 12 months of admission to the Missouri Bar. Since these credits can't be taken online, we do not offer newly admitted courses.

Please note that lawyers are exempt from the 15 hour annual requirement for the July 1 - June 30 MCLE reporting year in which they are admitted to The Missouri Bar.
