How many CLE hours are required?

What is the requirement for newly admitted attorneys?

New Active Members must complete a minimum of 15 hours of continuing legal education, including two hours of legal ethics in each calendar year. As of January 1, 2020 attorneys are exempt from the requirement during the calendar year in which the attorney is admitted to practice.

Can I carry hours forward to the next year?

Yes, excess live hours, including legal ethics credits, may be carried forward for two years. No self-study hours -- including online CLE courses -- may be carried over to any subsequent years.

Does Attorney Credits verify my completion?

No, Wyoming attorneys monitor their own progress and verify their own completion once the course has been completed.

Does Attorney Credits report my CLE hours to the Wyoming State Bar?

No. Attorney Credits does not report your completed courses to the Wyoming State Bar Association. Wyoming attorneys are required to self-report their hours. We do maintain a record of all your completed courses and you can access your certificates of completion at anytime from our website.

How do I report the completion of my CLE requirement at the end of my compliance period?

Wyoming attorneys must self-report all CLE hours on the Wyoming State Bar website by January 15 in order to avoid being assessed a $300 delinquency fee. Credit hours reported after March 1 for CLE activities completed during the previous calendar year will not be accepted.
