Newly admitted lawyers must complete the Bridge the Gap program by the end of the first full calendar year after the attorney is admitted to the Rhode Island Bar Association.

Does Attorney Credits offer courses for newly admitted attorneys?

No. The Bridge the Gap program is only presented by the Rhode Island Bar Association.

Can I carry hours forward to the next year?

Yes, up to 10 credit hours may be carried over to the next compliance period.

Does Attorney Credits verify my completion?

Yes, under the Rhode Island MCLE Requirements we must monitor your completion of the course. For online streaming video courses you must click on randomly inserted pop ups to confirm that you are viewing the video.

Does Attorney Credits report my attendance to the Rhode Island MCLE Commission?

Yes, Attorney Credits does report your attendance (not your credits) to the Rhode Island MCLE Commission. Our automated attendance reports run on the 1st of each month and every Thursday. In addition, we also maintain a record of all your completed courses and you can access your certificates of completion at anytime from our website.

How do I report the completion of my MCLE requirement at the end of my compliance period?

You must access your Rhode Island MCLE portal account and report your completed credits no later than June 30 of each reporting year. To access the Rhode Island Supreme Court Attorney Portal please click here: https://riap.courts.ri.gov/riap/welcomepage.do.
