Elder Law attorney Kim McGhee will share her expertise on this subject and she will mainly discuss how adding elder law as a practice area can benefit you & your clients, the eligibility requirements for aid & attendance benefits and service connected disability compensation. Kim will also talk about the requirements that attorneys must meet to assist veterans, your fees, aid & attendance, how a person qualifies as a veteran, activities of daily living (ADLs), assets, the surviving spouse, caregivers in the home, irrevocable trusts, possible changes, disability & injuries, ratings and Nehmer claims. After completing this course, you may decide to add elder law to your practice or at the very least you will be able to spot these issues for your client and possibly build a referral network with an elder law attorney.
