What is the requirement for newly admitted attorneys?

Newly admitted attorneys do not have any special requirements. Please note that newly admitted attorneys are not required to complete any MCLE for the remainder of the calendar year that they are admitted to the Nebraska State Bar Association.

Can I carry hours forward to the next year?

Yes, up to 5 credit hours may be carried forward to the next compliance period. Please note that only regular/traditional credits are allowed to be carried over. Online credit hours and MCLE hours in the area of professional responsibility do not carry over.

Does Attorney Credits verify my completion?

No. Nebraska attorneys monitor their own progress and verify their own completion once the course has been completed.

Does Attorney Credits report my MCLE hours to the Nebraska MCLE Commission?

Yes, Attorney Credits does report your completed courses to the Nebraska MCLE Commission, however, you still must self report your MCLE hours through the Nebraska website (see below). Our automated attendance reports run on the 1st of each month and every Thursday. In addition, we also maintain a record of all your completed courses and you can access your certificates of completion at anytime from our website.

Do I still have to self-report my MCLE hours to the Nebraska MCLE Commission?

Yes, Nebraska attorneys are required to self report all computer based MCLE courses to the Nebraska MCLE Commission even though we also report. Nebraska attorneys are required to report their MCLE credit hours using the Nebraska Supreme Court Attorney Services division webpage at: https://mcle.wcc.ne.gov/ext/Login.do.

How do I report the completion of my MCLE requirement at the end of my compliance period?

Each Nebraska attorney is required to make a report to the MCLE Director through the online Nebraska MCLE system showing completion of the required MCLE credit hours during the preceding MCLE reporting period. The reporting deadline is January 20.
