How many MCLE hours are required?

Forty-five credit hours every 3 years, including 5 hours of legal ethics, 1 hour of child abuse and elder abuse reporting, and 1 hour of substance abuse. In alternate reporting periods, you must complete at least 3 hours of access to justice.

How many MCLE hours can I take through Attorney Credits?

All 45 credit hours can be taken online.

How do Attorney Credits' MCLE courses qualify for credit in Oregon?

What are my MCLE compliance and reporting requirements?

What is the requirement for newly admitted and reinstated attorneys?

Newly admitted attorneys and attorneys that have been reinstated from inactive status have specific requirements and must contact the Oregon State Bar directly. Does Attorney Credits offer courses for newly admitted attorneys?

No. Attorney Credits does not offer courses for newly admitted Oregon attorneys.

Can I carry hours forward to the next year?

Yes, up to 6 credit hours may be carried forward to the next compliance period. Legal ethics, elder abuse reporting and access to justice hours may only be carried over as general credits.

Does Attorney Credits verify my completion?

No. Oregon attorneys monitor their own progress and verify their own completion once the course has been completed.

Does Attorney Credits report my MCLE hours to the Oregon State Bar MCLE Department?

Yes, Attorney Credits does report your completed courses to the Oregon State Bar MCLE Department. Our automated attendance reports run on the 1st and every Thursday. In addition, we also maintain a record of all your completed Oregon State Bar MCLE courses and you can access your certificates of completion at anytime from our website.

How do I report the completion of my MCLE requirement at the end of my compliance period?

You must file a completed compliance report with the Oregon State Bar MCLE Department certifying completion of your MCLE requirement. Your completed compliance report must be electronically certified and submitted by midnight on May 31 on the year of your reporting period at the Oregon Bar website at: https://www.osbar.org
